Wooley Blue Curls performs in full sun or light shade and very low amounts of summer water.  This beautiful shrub requires no care once established.  It does not perform well in most garden situations, unless the soil is well drained and irrigation is infrequent.  If you are lucky enough to find Trichostema in the nursery, you may want to consider it an annual.   Plant it in the late winter or early spring to enjoy the dark purple bloom spikes.
