This variety of Pennisetum is considered to be non-invasive.  It is a fast growing clumping grass that goes dormant in the winter months.  If preferred, the clump can be cut back to ground level.  During the spring new foliage will emerge from the base of the plant.  Once established, infrequent, deep irrigation is required.  It works well in almost any soil.
